Step 1- Needs Assessment
We meet with your sales, marketing, and systems people to assess your present methods and your future needs. (In the case of some of our smaller clients, this may be one in the same person.) We discuss the differences between each version of ACT! and why your organization would need one over the other.  We establish a technology plan, a budget and an implementation schedule. We explain the entire process including: the time, money and resources required to complete the project.

This is the most crucial step in the process as it defines the actions that will be taken to improve your business. Our consultants will meet with you personally to explain all of your options and make important suggestions for improving your business.                            

Step 2- Hardware and Software Acquisition
By Design Solutions reviews system requirements with your IT professional and makes recommendations for equipment that will fulfill the needs as outlined in Step 1.  Additionally, we place your order for software and have it drop shipped to your location for installation. 

Step 3- Software Installation
We will work with your systems people to ensure proper installation and configuration of the software.  We connect ACT to your Outlook profile, setup your PDA’s for Synchronization, and even create a remote database if you need to take the database with on the road. We can assist you in setting-up and integrating:

Palm or Pocket PCs
Blackberries
Card Scanners
Other Third-party add-ons like SwiftPage, Dashboard, accounting links, etc.

Step 4- Customize the ACT! Software
Every business has a need to track certain information about their customers to effectively market, sell, and support them.   The design of ACT offers the follow ways to customize the software to better suit your needs: 

Custom Field Design (aka User Defined Fields): By working with sales teams and managers, we guide and help you decide what information is important and how to track it. We understand both the critical and analytical issues surrounding your customers, prospects, vendors, or friends.

Screen Layouts: Now that the fields are defined, the designs of the screen layouts help employees logically find information more efficiently.

Letter templates: We train your team on how preparing custom templates in ACT! or Word for easy thank you notes, appointment confirmations, or even contracts. We also help prepare custom business letters that will succeed in every phase of client contact from prospecting to closing the deal.

Custom Reports: We design custom reports to display the information contained in your new database and to help you manage business. 

Step 5- Convert Your Older ACT! Database or Import From Other Software
If you are moving from ACT! version 6 or earlier, special conversion routines need to done to bring your data to newest version.  We help with the preparations necessary to convert your database. We also help to import your current Outlook files, Excel Spreadsheets, Access and other databases information. 

Step 6- Training, Training, Training!
We believe that Training is such an essential part of the process to implementing and maintaining such “mission critical” software for an organization.  With the effective training provided by our consultants, you will be using all of the new technology with ease. Our training is designed on a building block system.  We build from the simplest task of operating the software into more complex tasks of tracking sales, time, and even email campaigns.  We believe strongly that being on-site, at your location, using your data, allows us to provide the most effective training, tailored specific to your needs.  But sometimes you may have members of your team that cannot be in the same room as us, that’s no problem, because we also use software that allows us to do screen sharing and use a central teleconference number to perform the training, just like they were right there with us.  That’s simple, right?

Step 7- Continuing Support
One of the things our customers love about us, is that we don't disappear after the project. Technical and marketing assistance are always just a phone call away. You don't need to find those “easy-to-read” manuals and spend an eternity on those customer “service” lines holding . . . we are there to make your life simple!
